Pressure Washer, Which One?

Hey guys, I figure you have all had experience with different brands of washers and I am looking for some help choosing one. I am a Site Contractor and am looking for a washer to clean our heavy equipment (dozers, loaders, scrapers, etc...). I am assuming something with a little more gpm would be better suited for this applicaiton, but I don't know you guys tell me. Also, I would use the machine periodically to clean prime oil off of concrete from our paving operation. I would assume heat would be the best way to achieve that, so a heater unit would probably be required. And lastly, the unit needs to be self contained since a water source is not always available.

Re: Pressure Washer, Which One?

The compromise most guys choose would be a 5.6 gpm hot water skid. The flow rate and time being used without an incoming supply will determine the size reserve tank you need.. minimum would be about 250 to give you 35-40 mins of spray time. Look for a 18-24 horse Honda with a General pump. Parts are most readily available for this combination. I prefer to buy local so I can get service but many guys buy Pressure-Pro machines (no affiliation) over the internet. Cost for this machine will be from $4300 for a PP to $8000 for a Landa.
