Curb Cleaner?
Do any of you PWashers know of an accessory for cleaning curbs? I searched the pressure washing equipment sites and didn't find anything.
I did find a patent on the web, #6,267,308, but don't know if the inventor has ever manufactured it.
I have a bid in to clean 14.4 Miles of curb (7.24 - per side), and sidewalks. I'm going in at $.08 since it is about 600K SF of area.
We use surface cleaners for sidewalks which is the way to go. Just thought if would be nice if someone had manufactured something to clean curbs with.
Thanks,
Brian

I have seen just pictures of this thing. I don't know if they ever went into production with it. I'll list the company's URL. Might be worth contacting them for that much s. footage.

The Curbie looks like a cool invention, to bad it looks like you can make one with a trip to the Home Depot. They need to dress it up a little with flashing lights and maybe an old CPU from the dump so people think that it is computer operated.

Turbo nozzles work well on curved curbs. Like Doug... said, a contraption could be fabbed fairly easy.

Hey,
Thanks Ken. I think I have an old Intel P-II laying around I could glue to the handle....
I will research the "curbie" and let you know what I find.

Ken,
I just got off the phone with Jim at GreatPressureWash.com. What a GREAT guy! He is a credit to the profession.
Anyway, he has not mass produced "Curbie". Sadly, he said the Patent process was a legal headache that he did not want to tackle. (I will refrain from my feelings towards lawyers.)
He does not rent it either, but he is going to send me additional photos and he told me on the phone pretty much how to build one. He even told me what to really pay attention to as the picture on his web site is the 4th iteration after some trial and error.
With 3 nozzles going you need at least 4.5GPM which is what I have. I think I have a machine with more than that, can't remember right now though.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
BTW, if I didn't mention earlier, this project is in bidding stage. We are in the "running" so I'm told. Regardless, I could use a "Curbie" on many other jobs...

No problem, glad I could steer you in the right direction. If you are going to fab something up, I think I would outfit it with turbo nozzles like Michael sugested. Shoot me a pm. I will give you the number of just the man who would make something like this for you at a very reasonable rate.
