Crapped out!

I bought a new light duty pressure washer from Lowes last fall and stored it for the winter, last week I washed the front of my house and then took it to the job. Washed two sides of approx 2k sq ft home and it lost pressure. I bought the 2500 psi Troy-Built with the Honda engine and the pump actually pushed the key out of the slot on the engine crank. I pulled the pump off it and reinstalled the key only to have it get pushed out again after 5 minutes of use. Lowes told me that it was to old to return it so i went and bought another identicle unit, i will be returning IT back in a few days. Anyone else have any problems like this? I know it is a light duty unit but technically it didnt stay together long enough to wash a whole house.

I think what they were trying to tell you was it was to old to return to them, but it should be covered under the warranty. They should have directed you to a local shop that does Troys work.

Yes, this may be so, but he has fixed that problem with a "new purchase date". Works EVERY time! New box, old machine..........

Bought a pressure washer from Home Depot about two years ago ;and ,when I got it home and took it out of the box ,it had some water in it. The packaging didn't look factory either. Someone must have used it, did what they needed to do and then returned it. I took it back.

That doesn't seem to be completely honest to me...He entered into a contract (warranty) to bring it in to be fixed...Seems like their is a double standard when it comes to larger stores...guess who the added costs get passed onto?

On most everything costing $175.00 or more,
I Always pay the Few Extra Dollars for the Extended Warranty !!!

Saves Time and Money.

That lesson I learned the Hard way.

Think about it next time you are at the register and the girl asks "Extended Warranty ??"

I Hate When That Happens.

Case in point :

Just got off the phone regarding a magnavox television I bought on sale at BestBuy a little over a year ago.
It was on sale for $179.99 at like half price and so I purchased a 5 year extended warranty for $59.99 on top of that.
Presently having issues with the picture blanking out once in awhile and the stereo sound stopped working awhile back.
They will be sending a repairman to diagnose the set at my house since it is over a 25" unit.
If it can be repaired quickly than it will be done. If it will take longer than a week or two then they will replace the whole TV under the warranty !!! More than likely it would be an upgrade of some sort since it is a 2006 model. Gotta Luv it .
That is just One Reason I Always Pay for Extended Warranty.
Well worth the expense.

Well they took it back with no hassles, i taped the keyway to the pull cord so it could be found later and someone would see what the problem was with it. The lady at the counter never asked any questions about it, just refunded my card for it. Hopefully the new one will last a little longer. I know it is a light duty unit but it should last long enough to pressure wash one home i would think.
