Wood Burning Insert Questions

I have a buck stove insert I would like to use.Concerned about my situation. My house was built with intention of having a fireplace.Masonry from ground up,huge rock wall with hearth and firebox with fire brick.NO Chimney, the brick are capped off with a 4'' cement slab.Behind these brick and rock is a walk in closet. The brick are framed in so you cant see them inside the closet the slab is exposed.Wondering if it would be possible to put a stovepipe adaptor on the insert and go through attic, out roof with stovepipe or class A.Not sure of clearances of insert and pipe, and studs that might be against fire brick. Also not sure about how to cap the firebox off to make it safe.Stove has blowers on each side, but I think the top is probably the hot spot?Had my local stove dealer/installers come out and look, but I dont think he knew as much about it as me.Ive read many posts here, think many of u guys know alot more than them.Im new to this site and slow on the keyboard, but getting better.I would welcome any advice. My local man said I could do it but im not so sure he is really qualified.

Re: Wood Burning Insert Questions

I think you are not getting replies because folks don't understand what you are saying. Where is the 4 inch slab? What do you mean no chimney, never seen a fireplace without a chimney.
