water to water pool heater

I am working on a project with an open loop geothermal heatpump system and using it to heat a pool. I can't find anyone in this area that has done this, so I was wondering if anybody out there has any experience in it or has ever used a system like this.

Nobody from Twin Dolphin? Leisure Time/Keller might be another place to inquire. Sounds interesting.

actually, I did call around to all of these guys. They didn't act like they knew too much about it. A couple even said that it wouldn't work on heat up because of the variable air temp.
After that comment, I knew that I was looking for my info in the wrong place.

Is the use of solar heat a possibilty to warm the water? You could put coils of rigid black pipe on the patio roof and nobody would ever see them. Just an idea.

Is this a home off warm springs? Two other people I would try, and you may have already called them... Dennis @ a&h or the people at MQuay. Although Drake Mechanical is a competitor, Eddie Godsey (their service manager) might be able to give you some names.

I know I won't be of any help, but out of curiosity, what do you need to know?

Hey Flash,
Dennis is out for a few weeks for his back again, but yeah, I consulted with him shortly the other day. The home isn't on warm springs, but it is in town. If we start the project we should hook up and I'll take you by to check it out.

Johnboy,
Your idea definitely has merit. With the heat pump we are going to try to bring the pool up to temp. 20,000 gallons from approx. 50 degrees to 80. The customer wanted to use an air to water heat pump but realized that with our cold nights, btu output really fluctuated. Solar might work to maintain temp but I don't think that it could heat the pool in the spring and fall.

If you have some info that I don't, I and my customer would like to see it. They would have no problem going solar and as a matter of fact, they would be stoked!!

And basically, I'm wondering if anybody out there has done this and is there anything that I should look out for.
