Very Cold Outside Air From Cold Air Return ??

Hello,
I am feeling some very cold, outside cold feeling air coming from the ceiling where the cold air return is.
Any idea what would be causing this? -- the air feels like a small breeze and the temp is very very cold, like the air outside, it was 28deg. here today.

Any idea what this could be or what to check?

thanks

One sure thing to do is call your hvac company or follow your cold return duct back to the unit to find out where it let go & opened up.

Is there insulation in the attic, or wrapped around the return. Theoretically your attic is suppose to be the same temp as the outside air. So make sure there is insulation around it or also check for air leaks at the seams.
