Venting Of Furnace And Water Heater


Is there a requirement (code) that the water heater vent enter the chimey above the furnace vent? Thanks.

It`s all going to depend on the code requirememnts for yoour state, and or, City. In California as long as the vents have enough back slope towards appliance and the connection is made with a listed vent connection. The only other item of importance is that the vent after the connection is sized properly. Might try calling the Building and Safety Office in your area. Make`m put the dough-nut down and answer a simple question. Damn, I just dropped mine!!!
