Thermasheath As Duct Board?

Is there any reason why one wouldn't want to use thermasheath 3 as duct board?

It has great r-value. Pretty rigid. Impermeable. Could be a fire hazard though

How does it compare pricewise towards say, flex duct?

I would say the "fire hazzard" would be a good reason not to use it. Ever hear of ductboard? It's way cheaper than metal all the way around.

I'm not trying to use it in place of flex, I'm wondering if it would be a good idea to use it instead of fiberglass ductboard.

In a word, NO. You will find there are specific materials approved for specific uses, such the need for UL labs and SMACNA, etc, etc. If you use a bogus material in someone elses dwelling, guess who owns it forever in the eyes of the legal system?
