Rotten Egg/sulfur Smell From Oil Fired Boiler
hey guys. i'm not in the hvac field but my wife's friend, who is home alone while her husband who's i the natl guard is down in washington dc for the inauguration, called me and said like once every day or so, she has this smell coming from their oil fired boiler in the basement. i have heard of this from a water heater but not from a boiler. can anyone help me tell her what to do. her husband will be home on wednesday afternoon and she's worried that the fume would hurt her family, she's got 4 young kids.
is this simply a boiler that needs service or is something else causing this random smell? anyone can help me out tonight i'd appreciate it, so i can call her back and let her sleep in peace. the smell is not there all the time. she told me like every 15-20 hours she notices it. thanks Dan |
