propane wall furnace

pilot light stays on but the main gas valve will not open to ignite the main burners.

We are going to need a little more information, is the system 24vt or millivolt? is the thermostat closing and is there power to the valve?
What kind of unit is it, we may be able to help by the name of the furnace.
