Poor Man's Ventilation

I know a tight house requires ventilation. But HRV/ERV additions seem to cost an arm/leg, especially in an economy level home. Anyone used a product called the aircycler (www.aircycler.com). A schematic on their website, http://www.aircycler.com/balanced_ventschem.pdf, shows it being wired with bathroom fans in a balanced system. Any thoughts?
