Depends what equipment you work on.
Do you do all residential work.
Or do you also work on 40 plus ton systems?

I use a Robinair 6CFM. Its a bit big for many residential systems, but still good for pulling a vacuum on systems up to 50 tons without a problem.
Over 50 tons, it takes too lon, so I have to use a second vacuum pump also.

Wouldn't it be easier to just pick one of your local supply houses to sell you the gear? I would think they know what would serve you best and, odds are, all the brands are about the same. Also, if you have any warranty issues, it would be more convenient to deal with them.

Supply houses tend to try and sell the larger vacuum pumps.
Not the one that is sized best to the work you do.

You should know what size youo need for your type work, before you go to a supply house.

I would rather get feedback from guys in the field that have used that product then the guy at the supply house trying to sell a certain brand because of the markup.

Well, the brand I use is J/B dv-142. It seems to work just fine. I really don't know the differences between brand a or b. But, if that is one of the brands you are considering, I just thought I would let you know that it does the job.

I’ve had very good luck with my Ritchie YJ 6-CFM SuperEvac pump. It’s several years old now and still going strong.
The YJ 1/2" vacuum manifold tree with the 3/8" vacuum hoses and 4-in-1 vacuum/charging adapters are also good accessories to have.
The JB pumps I have used in the past were also rock solid.

Apion also has one out now, but I’m not yet sold on the idea of having to buy their special cartridges every time I want to change the pump oil.
