New Rebates Available?

I just went to a home show here today, and noticed that there were a bunch of HVAC contractors advertising some type of rebates that were recently made available.

Specifically, I think they were for heat pump upgrades, geo-thermal systems, and solar powered systems.

I had a new heat pump system installed at the beginning of February, so I'm thinking I may be eligible? I dumped a 20 year old system for a new 18-SEER heat pump.

Any of you have pertinent information available?

You are talking about the federal tax credit. If you do indeed have an 18SEER heatpump that also qualifies on its eer rating and hspf then you should qualify for a credit equal to 30% of the installation cost up to $1500.00 Then again, I am just a heating and air guy, not a tax professional.

This tax rebate program is huge. A customer asked me about it, did a little legwork, and there isn't much to it. As for hvac, the new equipment has to be rated at 95+% furnace andor 16 S.E.E.R. a/c. The customer will get a tax credit for 2009. Just go to energystar.gov, and take it from there. One better hurry up because it's going to be a shark feed for that rebate $.

I don't know why, I am not crazy about York, but they make a 95% down-flow that is not a v.s. blower. I wish Goodman did as well. Our Payne dealer doesn't have their ducks in order with this prgroam. I am sure they will. At least in Boise, The York people will have a big summer.
