I can understand how a cracked h.e. would trip the limit switch, but not how it would attribute to excessive condensate in the inducer housing.

By the way, I have to give you props on the advise on using a magnahelic for detecting a leak on the h.e.. Pretty clever.

im not sure about goodman , but with armstrong furnaces the control board takes care of the fans and the gas valves controls the ingnition! it almost sounds to me ,you have a high resistance connection ! first and most important ! shut off power ! clean and tighten each and every wire connection ! restore power and try furnance ! if that does not work ,remove flue pipe for a one minute test ,if furnace runs fine you know were problem is! thanks aircon1

Re: Need Furnace Expert - Goodman Furnace

Just a thought guys... I know that when Ducane made an update to thier inducer motor housing there was a problem with a proper seal between the PVC pipe and the housing. The fix was to get high temp sealer in the channel where the PVC pipe seats itself and let it set a couple hours to cure a bit. Fixed the problem of the condensate. Happy troubleshooting.
