Natural Gas Cerification

I have a friend that is certified to work on fuel oil systems and wants to know where he can get certified to work on natural gas systems. He lives in upstate new york. Any help you can give would be appreciated. Thanks

The gas company in my neck of the woods puts on a free class about once a month (few hour deal) to get their "certification" to work on gas pipework served by their company. Might check with the gas company.

Met a few guys from New York at a service school and the suject came up. I was told no ticket needed but there is a code to follow and alll the chaps were adament, work in the trade first for someone to learn. They also said they don't want a license, but an apprenticeship would be a good idea.

If your talking about a qualification card for doing service lines, contact your local gas co. to see who offers it in your area. If that is what your talking about.
