Moving Chimney ?
Hi all, this is a question for my personal house I am getting in Jan. I plan on bringing in an HVAC contractor to do the move is possible but I wanted to get some background info on here first.
I plan on removing a wall on the main floor of my bungalow structurally I am good as the roof is trusses, but upon further inspection I noticed the furnace chimney is running up the middle of the house. I want to know if this can be moved to the side of the house and up and out through the roof as it is now ? it is a double wall stainless pipe. It come out of the furnace goes over horizontally about 5' towards the center of the home and up I plan to have it moved about the same distance 5' towards the outside. |

Re: Moving Chimney ?
There are strict codes on this that you would need to talk to the AHJ about. The easiest way maybe to just add a sidewall exhaust kit if possible and not worry about natural draft.
