Most efficient way to cool a room?

Lets say I wanted to put an air conditioner for just one really well insulated room in a house.

What system would be the most efficient one to cool the room?

Small window shaker and a ceiling fan. The fan is good for a few extra degrees, think 'wind chill factor'. We do it all of the time here in So. FL.

I use a 9000 btu portable unit, can roll all around the room. Cost a few hundred bucks, but works good til the central air comes sometime in the near future.

Tell your wife or girlfriend that she's starting to look a little big in the caboose. That will chill the room right down to a frosty temperature immediately.

Oh, I don't recommend this for newly wedded couples. Get the ring paid for first.

Whats a Small window shaker?

Would it be crazy to get just a seperate central cooling unit just for that one room?

The MOST EFFICIENT would be a ductless mini-split system, their efficiency ratings are near or over 20 SEER. A window shaker is about the least efficient thing you could buy.

Open the window in the winter. That'll cool the place down.

A little window shaker sounds like a 5000 BTU AC.

Could you explain more about the ductless mini-split system?

Or give a good website?

I agree with air pro ,ductless mini split. simply hangs on the wall out of the way and very little noise compared to the other options.

So ductless mini split is just a vent in the wall of each room, instead of an ducting system?
