Question

Improper Venting

If the vent does not allow for proper draft - can the inducer be damaged?

Re: Improper Venting

It's not likely but the tube connected to it could be clogged.

Re: Improper Venting

The metal vent that provides the draft. Runs outside and up the side of the house.

Re: Improper Venting

Well yea the inducer motor can be damanged if for some reason the B-Vent flue is plugged up or is obstructed by something.

Is the unit venting to the outside from the unit, IE can you see vapor on a cold day exit the top?

Re: Improper Venting

thanks for your help. someone doing work on my house - moved the B-vent flue and did not extend it above the roof line (actually only about 3 feet up). due to that the inducer motor was damaged. before "yelling" at the workman I wanted an objective answer.

thanks again.

new carrier furnace owner.
