Honeywell Air Cleaner

I was wondering if its normal and I think it is for the air hepa cleaner to make a clicking noise like a bug zapper continuous when you first start it up . the unit is around 10 years old and I just cleaned the metal filters and discovered it was and probably never turned on . I also found that the switch on the unit wasn't on. I also noticed it works in the on position on the the thermostat and not on automatic is this rite .

Re: Honeywell Air Cleaner

There is no airflow when the t-stat switch is in auto unless the heat or a/c is calling, so you won't hear any "zapping", it is normal when you turn it on after disturbing the unit to hear the buzz.
