home repair loans from the city.

I just found out about an emergency loan program from our city. It applies to roof repair, heating replacement/repairs, plumbing repairs...etc. You need to have a decent credit history, but I know of several customers that could benefit (as well as me) from this program. Do you guys have local loans that are similiar.

Several different types of aid available.

Some are no interest loans.
Some are low interest loans.
Some are grants(never pay back).

Good credit isn't required.
But, it has a stipulation that you must own and live there for 5 or 7 more years(depending which program you used) after you receive the aid. Or it becomes a standard loan.

Did work once under some grant for a client. It was a deal where the property owner had to provide 50% of the money and the grant paid the other 50%.
Pretty decent deal for those that took advantage. Actually, the property owner had to pay all the money for the work and then they got reimbursed 50%-I never had to wait for a government check or anything.
I don't think this was an emergency program though, it was some community redevelopment grant-now that I'm thinking about it, it was a state program. The city had to apply for a piece of this pool of money and it was a 50/50 matching grant. It's all coming back to me now that I'm thinking of it. But it wasn't some ongoing automatically available annual program.
I know , this is all very helpful to you I'm sure
