Heating/Hot Water Boiler Question

I'm Looking into purchasing an Historic Home but im not sure of the baseboard hot water boiler method thats used for heating the home.
My question about this method of heating would be what type of maintenance is to be expected over the conventional Gas/Ele Furance if any.Any insight to this Hot Water Boiler Method would be appreciated.

Other than replacing-repairing mechanical components as they need it, some systems may need to be bled, to get air out of the system and/or water added as needed.

Get a plumbing-heating contractor to give you a review of the system and its condition/life expectancy. He would be able to tell you what type of specific upkeep that system would need.

A home inspector will check to see that it operates and be able to give you some information, but will probably not give you replacement costs if you need them.

As above, have it check by an experienced hydronics contractor.

Hydronic heat can be far more comfortable in an older home then a forced hot air.
