Did you take an amp reading of the Goodman control circuit, and set the anticipator accordingly? Doesn't sound like it, from your symptoms.

I sorta hate to see Goodman/Janitrol bashed so much. It is what it is. It's an entry level, economy grade, builder grade, furnace/heat pump/air conditioner. I find them among the simplest to work on. What do you expect for cheap?

The amp draw on the control circuit is so small, and clamp type amp meters don't really go down that small, so I have a trick. Take a piece of thermostat wire and wrap it 10 times around the amp clamp. Then, use each end of that wire to jumper R and W at the stat. This will give you a good reading on your amp clamp that is 10 times the actual amp draw. Devide that number on the screen by 10, and that will be your anticipator setting.
