Garage Heater Opinion

Am thinking of buying one of these heaters for the garage and would like an opinion on them and a answer. The ones I am looking at are:

http://www.greenhousemegastore.com/p...umber=HD60A-01

http://www.greenhousemegastore.com/p...mber=HT-GH-PKG 48,000 btu output unit

http://www.northerntool.com/webapp/w...1445_200311445

The garage is 572 sq ft with 9ft ceilings, insulated walls and ceilings and sheetrocked. Has insulated garage door and sliding window. Am leaning towards the Dayton unit, since we have a graingers here.
The question that I have otherwise is a vertical or hor vent better, or is there really any difference. It will vent out either the north or the west side if hor. and was wondering if the winds we have here would affect it any since 20 mph winds are common and 35 gusts also aren't unusual.

Re: Garage Heater Opinion

Hi oldgoat

Not quite sure why but my browser would not open the images. Any way, depending on what you are after has alot to do with the answer. Low intensity infrared is one of the most efficient and comfortable means. But the hotdawg unit heaters are probably one of the more efficient unit heaters.

Good luck

Re: Garage Heater Opinion

I would recommend a Dayton 48K output. You show the 24K series which will not be enough with a window and G-door. I mean if you don't care about your heater running fulltime then go with the 24K. The Horizontal and Vertical are really no difference besides mounting options in the field. I would go with Horz. being garage. The wind thing will just cool the exterior walls even more, so this will lead towards higher BTU's which the 48 series should be sufficent. Just my 2 cents
