Unhappy Furnace not working

I have a Bryant Furnace (1980).It went out just before summer and I had someone come out to look at it. They said the Pilot Assy. was bad, I replaced it with the 3 wire pilot safety switch. It worked perfect for 2 1/2 days then back to what it did before. The ignitor sparks the flame, the flame burns for about 15-20 seconds. Then when it seems like it's supposed to go to the burners , it goes out. Then a knock (like a knuckle hitting the metal), flame lights , then goes out. It keeps repeating this but nothing else happens.Could it be the Gas Valve has gone bad ? Any help is appreciated. It's getting cccccold in here.

It could be the gas valve it could also be a gas pressure drop also. Gages need to be connected to the inlet of the valve to measure pressure while it operates. If the pressure drops you have a gas problem. If it doesn't the valve is bad.
