Formicary corrosion

WHAT CAN ANYONE TELL ME ABOUT FOMICARY CORROSION
I HAVE HAD MORE COIL FAILURES THIS YEAR THAN ANY YEAR IN THE PAST
I CHANGED 6 COILS LAST WEEK
GOING ON A JOB IN THE MORNING WHERE SOMEONE ELSE HAS ALREADY CONDEMED THE EVAP. COIL
I EVEN KNOW OF ONE HOUSE THAT WAS INSTALLED BY ANOTHER COMPANY & IT HAS HAD 6 EVAP. COILS IN 2 YEARS
I KNOW THE HOUSTON AREA IS A HUMID CLIMATE, BUT IS THIS FORMICARY CORROSION JUST AN EXCUSE OR IS THERE SOMTHING TO IT
CAN I TAKE A SAMPLE OF THE CONDENSATE WATER & HAVE IT TESTED & IF SO, WHERE WOULD I HAVE IT TESTED WITHOUT BREAKING THE BANK

try this on your coils. i use it in refrigeration with briny conditions in walk ins and reach ins. it's fairly inexpensive and makes a great annual maintainence feature.

It's out there you just have to do searches with different wording. Also lots of this information is being consolidated in the Education Forum at another talk site.
