Dryer Venting: Up Versus Out
Granted, when the dryer is locatd on an outside wall, just shoot it outside straight from the back...Simple Simon. However, upon several instances, I run into situations in which the dryer is on an interrior wall, and the distance is about 18' from the outside.
Sure, you can still go horizontally in the crawl space, but if it is a single story house, going straight up, may be a better option. No matter what, is that lint is going to build-up. It is easier to clean the inside of the pipe, using a brush going up and down versus the horizontal run. Only thing is a back-draft damper. The set-up needs to be so that youcan easily take off the deflecto . |
