Cleaning Chimney With CWC Insert?
Anybody got any tips? I recently purchased a home with a CWC Textron wood burning insert in a masonry fireplace (1982) and need to clean the chimney. Do I need to pull the insert to accomplish this? I am not sure how it attaches to the flu, but know that there is not a full line to the top of the chimney as with the newer inserts.

Re: Cleaning Chimney With CWC Insert?
Logic ChimneySweep says that if there is not a continuous stainless liner to the terra cotta or stainless inner liner to the top of the chimney, there would have to be another convenient way to get to the top of the insert, or to pull the insert. A collection of hard creosote on top of the insert can make a battle to get to it later.
