Chimney Liners

I had someone put in a chimney liner for my furnace chimney. The house is a single story ranch built 1950s. This chimney liner is not directly connected to the furnace. Is stops a few feet above where the furnace enters the chimney.

Was this installed correctly? Should it be connected directly to the furnace?

What should be an estimate on a straight chimney (20 feet) like this?

The liner should come just out of the chimney . The flue pipe from the furnace is suppose to go into the liner.

The price varies some chimneys are straight and some are offset.The price should be about 350.00 to 450.00 not including any cost to trouble shoot a problem.
