Carrier's 5 ton 10 SEER to get close to 10 SEER were at least ¾" vapor lines. So unless your line set was less then 15', you were no where close to 10 SEER with the old unit.

So your electric bill should have dropped by a lot.

Most units in R22 to get 15 SEER require 7/8" vapor lines, and some need 1-1/8" lines. So R410A doesn't require a large line then R22.
