Burner Motor Sticks

I have an oil burner that sticks when it try's to fire up some of the time. If you push the reset and lightly tap it it fires up?

Sometimes, tapping makes a better connection somewhere near the tap, so cleaning and tightening connections as part of the annual service procedure can overcome a problem. I've also had some motors lose a winding, making a 'flat-spot' in the motor to hang at that one point, or have dirty contacts. There isn't a one-shot 'always works' for a 'tap' question, some checking will be required before buying a new one.

Replace it, they don't cost more than $70, is it worth a freeze up trying to save it?
