Boiler Issue

Hey guys,
I am looking at a boiler system installed by another company a few years ago that keeps failing for various reasons. The only thing that I can get my head around is the fact that there has to be a piping issue. I have 4 radiators run in series with 3/4" inlet/outlet and my final radiator uses 1/2" piping. My circulation pump has 3/4" outlets and is 1/25 hp.

Not that it matters, but the unit is a 90% Lennox boiler ( I think these were manufactured by Dunkirk ). Using propane.

Not even sure that I have gotten to the question yet but the writing of this might have helped me a bit. My customer wants the most dependable heating system that he can get ( it is for his cabin in the mountains ). He has already had pipes freeze and break twice in 2 1/2 years.

Any suggestions.

Re: Boiler Issue

I "think" you need to do some calculating. I am not a hydronics guy, but I had a similiar problem (hydronic air handler with a tankless water heater). I had to figure the amount of piping and head loss of the coils/ radiators...etc to figure out the correct size of pump needed to do the job. Odds are that the appliance is ok, it's the pump size. The air was bled out wasn't it? This is just a vague suggestion, perhaps the plumbers could be of more help

Give it hell.
