Finger Count

Haven't posted in a while... Got hurt. Soooo, here's a topic- How many fully functioning fingers do we all have? I'm down to six. Nine are full length though. Tangled with the table saw 10 weeks ago, awesome ER visit, trying to get use back since then, got the tip of my left ring finger amputated on tues, 'caus it wouldn't heal right, middle and pinky fingers are still stiff and sore. Ran a 1/2" spade bit through my left pointer finger 2 years ago and it hasn't healed right, so that leaves ... a 100% right hand, a 100% left thumb, and various degrees of damage to the rest.

So, how're everybody's fingers?

10, but I have had 8 broken ribs, a wrist smashed into pieces, 16 stitches across my face, a fractured eye socket, and a busted knee cap....all from working in construction....all except one caused by other people.

When my oldest buddy and I
see each other, it's a ritual....
we each hold up both hands

I'm sure that only guys in

57 yrs. and still have all of mine. Never had any cut off but have had some serious squishings. Finger bones are too small and they can't 'set' them like larger bones, pretty much it's just sit and wait to see what happens.

I can still play Flamencan guitar, learned it from Dad. He had 3 fingers cut off in a tablesaw episode, they sewed them back on a little crooked and he said that it made it easier to hit certain chords.

10 fingers here...9 toes though...lost one

The best part about 9 toes...ask the little kids to go find the missing toes, usually keeps them occupied for an hour or so to allow adults free time to swim in the pool

did you drop it?

Had the saw on the ground, decided to cut some shower board and get nice clean cuts. Board got stuck and saw stopped, so I got up to kick the board and as I kicked it came loose but my foot just kept going, right into the blade.
Dumb thing to do. The worst injury before that was building a house for my daughter (a doll house). Got my finger under the shaft on a jigsaw. 3 months to heal properly. Worked highrise and residential with no serious injury and get hurt building a dollhouse.

Same as me. 9 toes and smashed bones and stretched tendons. I have a tradition when asked what happened there is always a different story. Ranges from a crocodile attack to a knife fight in Mexico.

I have 9.95 fingers as a result of really wanting to play with a new slot cutter for the router before building my router table. You have to really look to see it, but one finger is a litter sharper than the rest. It does make it easier on some chords for the guitar.

Good Luck
Dave

Still got all ten but smashed one at the tip and shattered it. It looks good and only I can notice the difference. On A different note, I got to work with a roofer who only had one eye sunday. He is the best tinsmith I have ever seen. Scared me to death walking on ten inch walk boards like it was nothing.
