Not saying what, who, when, or how, but more often than not, mid construction fires DO NOT HAPPEN BY ERROR.

Dude, YOU DO NOT HAVE A GUESS as to how it happened. Follow?
When the arson guy calls you you don't know.
Let the pro's do what they have to. Keep your guesses to yourself and especially don't talk about it here.
Just some friendly advice.

It could not have been the union since you will get a cost plus re-build.
You should serve them coffee and Krispy Kremes (if they are still in business)while picketing if you get the rebuilding job. Maybe the target was the GC. In the Republic of Wisconsin you never know what can happen.
I have had tires slashed by union mavericks, but fortunately the union Business Agent called to warn me so I could put on old tires to sacrifice that night.

I guess I must be missing something, but as I have said before, why would anyone put up with crap like that? I know these guys get public sympathy for their cause, but if a goon slashed my tires, and I caught him, one if us isn't walking away. Another reason to be glad I am in Oklahoma, a right to work state, and we can still be men here.

Never had that happen. Had a 4" hail storm hit when we were at substantial completion on a garage build. Ended up with another 30K in work as the house was 98 SQ 10/12 2 story. Never thought about being blamed for the hailstorm, though. I don't know would be a practiced phrase in my company about now. Let them do their jobs and stay out of it.

grizl, you know I don't support union malfeasance and while this may be a possibility, your post appears to be specifically designed to act as cheerleader for the anti-union crowd here. You have given absolutely no information that might indicate it was the unions, or anything else. How about we start a list of possibilites? Seeing that we don;t even know who owned the building and what the purpose of the building is, we can just speculate 'cuz that's all we got!!
owner is bankrupt and needed to lose this building
owner pissed off the mobsters in Chicago
one of your guys was really pissed off at you
one of your subs was really pissed off at you
one of the owners girlfriends was really pissed off at him because he bought his wife a nicer present for her birthday than the girlfriend got
one of the owners competitors didn't want anymore competition
and the list could go on forever. Come on grizl, if it was the unions, then hopefully they will get caught and punished but without proof, all you have is prejudiced speculation. You want them to be fair with you yet you aren;t fair with them. Not fair.

look, i'm not seriously speculating, it's it jest. it seems like everyone who speaks of this assumes who it was. whether this is or is not true, I don't know.
Two of our jobs have burnt down in the last two years because of arson.
-- I'd rather not end up dead, I just like to talk about the things going on with our company. Don't they usually do phone threats first anyways?
