And What Did You Do Today??

Today I removed an old phone system.
Something tells me that it may have been in the wrong place.

Re: And What Did You Do Today??

I was working in an attorney's office, and I moved a tile and got a big router and a mile of Cat5E falling on me. Luckily, nobody lost their connection, as far as I could tell. Why do people do stupid crap like that?

Reminds me of a mall in our capital city of Harrisburg called "Strawberry Square Mall". You can't move a piece of tile in that whole place without getting 50 pounds of abandoned god-knows-what kind of cable falling out at you. Grrrr...

Ever taken out a very tight tile, and a large section of the ceiling starts falling apart like a row of badly stacked domino's from hell? I've had that pleasure at least twice. I'm not sure what causes that, except to note that ceiling tie wires can't be expensive, and perhaps they could have used a few more. It's pretty hard to explain to the customer how it's not your fault.

lol, able, you have a crappy dropped ceiling under a crappy stapled up ceiling in that photo. They don't do it like they used to.. thank goodness!

I wonder if the manufacturer will warrant that telephone thingy installed in that location under those conditions? My bet is.. not.

That telephone thingy is on its way to the nearest dumpster. It finally gave up the ghost and went south. The sad part is that I know the guy that actually decide that the best location for was on top of the ceiling tile. To look at him you would NEVER think he was capable of such a dipicable act. He as since moved on to other pastures and has left a few messes still to be found minus this one.

My theory is that ceiling tile guys know that for them it only has to go in and look good ONE TIME. Everytime I happen to be on the jobsite I try to make comment how ??good?? the grid looks to give some incentive for a good job. It is the HO that puts 2x4 tiles in with 2"-3" below the original so that they don't lose ceiling height. Sometimes I think that the grid goes in after the tile.
