Supplies
without sounding like an advertisement, I'm in the process of building a web site with products, some retail, and all wholesale. The retail prices are shown on products that are not restricted, but FA panels and other products will be restricted sales to dealers and licensed installers.
The site is not complete, and I'm not a web guru, but feel free to visit and provide some input.

Tonnes....what kind are you looking for though?
I have yet to find companies that offer good prices on everything and stock everything, I deal with about a dozen companies each one has a slightly different focus.

please send me a pm or reply with a list of supplies. I get stuff from ADI, service warehouse, HD supply, HD waterworks plumbing. I'm looking for electrical related parts, install accessories, components at the moment, mostly for cctv, fire alarm, burg alarm, access control, electronic and regular locks.
Like you, I get things from various suppliers..no one supplier has everything in stock at the lowest or most competitive price so i endup sourcing from many but would like to narrow it down to 10 supplies from almost 50.

I have been using Anixter and Inter Pacific for CCTV components. I am paying $140 a box for Cat 5 Plenum - let me know if you can get it cheaper.

As to the doible drop ceiling, i have never worked with that.
If drop ceiling can support it, i usually run it right above it with no supports, if its 1-2 cables. For more cables, i use some sort of hooks wherever i can, or a wiring basket.
Good luck.

Absolutely NOT you CANNOT run wires on top of cieling tiles. You will fail your inspection and on top of that will have a BAD reputation with the Inspectors and I am sure you don't want that.
You definitely have to provide your own support. You can tie your wire to the electrical support away from the electircal wires. When in a new construction always spray paint your supports. It will make it easier for the Inspector to follow your wires.

I buy all my low voltage products from CableGiant.com
I use a lot of ICC cabling products for my parts and I am finding myslf doing more and more Cat 6 installs. My customers are asking for cat 6 more than Cat 5 now.

Cat-6 business has been a little sparse for me, although I haven't been doing much data distribution lately more automation and A/V where cat5 can squeeze out a few pennies.
Trimouts I have yet to standardize properly, I do mostly Honneywell (sold only in bulk) yet I have some leviton/ICC/panduit/OnQ kicking around.
