Direct Burial CoAx

After the umteenth call to Comcast about running cable to my house and nobody can get an answer, I am ready to rent a DitchWitch and run the line myself and call them to tie in to the pole. I have about a 750-800' underground run to make and was wondering what size of direct burial to use. This will be for highspeed internet and maybe TV even though I already have sattellite TV.

To be honest a maxi sneaker is the machine to use. CiC (cable in conduit) is what most use nowdays.
As easy as it is to do I would allow the cable co to do it for liability reasons , all it takes is a mis located fiber line and your in deep do do ( I cut a few back in the day)
The other thing is if you do it then its on you if reception is bad and with highspeed I would not chance it, the other thing is they may not do a hook-up i know COX used to allow independent prewires but stopped after some guys were cutting way too many corners and creating problems.

For 800', they used to run RG-11, but now they're running what they call "three-twenty".

Trouble is back in '93 when I was building the place the cable company prior to Comcast said they wouldn't drop the line in unless I coughed up $1000+. I told them take a hike and put in Sattellite for my TV. Back then i didn't even have a computer and high speed wasn't much of a thought.
I told Comcast I would even provide them the trench again and I can't get an answer out of them one way or another. I figure i will do the trench and at the same time have Verizon come by and they will also drop in a FIOS line for nothing. Of course FIOS is still a couple years away before it is availabe here but at least the line will be there.
I don't have to worry about hitting anything because there is nothing to hit except phone and power. One call to the dig line will cover me and I'm the one that dug the original trench. This new trech will be on the opposite side of the driveway so again no chance of hitting anything.

Thanks md. I'll stop by the supply house today or tomorrow and see what they got.

Mind you, for underground, you'll want to use the flooded version of RG11 or .320.
