Cable Management / Big bundles

What do you guys use to tie down a massive bundle of cables? I've been using those little screw in blocks with the slots that you can run a zip tie through, but I'm wondering if anybody's found a better way.

Depends on the situation.

I sometimes staple a zip tie to wood and use that. Or use the zip ties with the screw hole on them.

Or in some other cases I use some plastic cable clamps as seen in this picture:

From Datacomm Electronics, except I cannot find a picture of them on their website. Don't use them in the extreme cold.. they snap

Or you can even just staple velcro to the wall and make it nice and easy to do/undo when you add/remove cabling.

I've always called those Catamounts.

For really big bundles, I like D rings or J hooks.

I built a public access TV station on the cheap and used half inch long sections of 2" diameter PVC pipe to hold bundles. Cut a slot across them, poke a screw hole in the back and attach.

We stay away from cable ties because they tend to damage the cable and are one-use only. Try using 1" Velcro with a lath screw to secure it to the wall, you may like it!

velcro is good but there is a cost factor. drive rings, catamount zip ties (with a zip tie fastner/gun) and various wire/cable clamps are pennies a piece.

oh a trick I do for wire runs on masonry or concrete.. if you want a d ring/ drive ring in concrete... drill and put a plastic anchor, the insert your ring. Works like a charm.
