The systems from NuTone have probably been the standard fare for 30 or 40 years. No kidding.

The modern master stations have a CD player.

Are they looking for a system to actually distribute music around the house? If so, they should get a system for that as an intercom just ain't exactly gonna provide high fidelity.

The Russound ComPoint system is pretty nice. It will also allow room-to-room communications, as opposed to just room-to-master station. It also works with multi-room audio systems to cut out the music so the intercom doesn't get drowned out.

Russound also makes some very nice multi-room music systems.

M&S offers a nice system with a central unit, 4 remote stations, a front door and back patio station and a cd system for around $900.00 combined (Minus the rough-in kit). I have installed many of these systems and have had no problems.

Good Luck.

P.S. They sell in black or white.
