Anything low-voltage

Hello all. I'm new to the forum and just wanted to introduce myself. I stumbled on this site last night and I think its a great site. I just started my own business last week and I will be looking for some advice and also trying to give it. I was an electrician for 8 years and have been doing low-voltage for 3 years now. My boss was a jerk, funny how the tables turn, so now I am trying my hand at it with being "employee friendly" in mind. I do burg, fire, data, CCTV and anything low-voltage really. I have made lots of mistakes and have learned from them all. If anyone needs any help just let me know. I look forward to hearing from you all. I'm out of Indiana. Derek

Don't make the mistake of not knowing how to run your own business. Learn everything you can, it's just as important if not more than the actual business you are in.

running your own buisness

Talk to various builders or general electricial contractors. Most builders are not building right now because of the low market value. If this is the case, go after commercial work. Talk to high voltage contractors and ask if you can pre-wire a single project for scale and let them see your value of your work. It worked for me. Just a thought.
