Poor guy never had a chance. Same with the contractor who wanted to work in Canada. There is no mercy shown!

I heard one of the hidden forums is where Nathan keeps the carcasses of 1st time posters who went down in flames.

Come on guys, you're as bad as my buddies! Lots of guys out there are on their last legs and begging for work. Not far off it myself. Good luck bud in finding work, if you find a lot tell me.

I appreciate your having a heart and all -

but you know what??

It doesn't matter whether the economy is good or bad - contracting is not for everyone. You can go broke in good times JUST AS EASILY as you in bad times. You can have all the work in the world - and all it takes is just one foul mis-step. Or Murphy wants to have a sleepover with you and he brings a broomstick.

That's just what contracting is - and I think it's a reality that you must not only accept and embrace - but eat it for dinner every night.

We are all in a constant position of "gettin what's comin"

On another note - if some of these contractors would come out and LEARN to operate a BUSINESS and not be like Joe-Bob Sidejob --- then maybe they wouldn't be starving.

You don't wait to the point of starvation to go grocery shopping.

Sorry to sound calloused, but I sneezed this morning and lost about $1100

Re: Starving Need Work

You all need to back off my boy here looking for work!

I was setting myself up nice.

I figured I'd sub to that guy who is subbing to the GC who got the bid for that work in kentucky and sub it to this guy.

That original $10 an hour split 4 ways down wouldn't leave much for this starving guy. I think that original guy said he was making $10, so the main GC was probably making $20.00, that would leave me $5.00, I'd take $4.00 and that would leave $1.00 for the starving guy. If he could round up 8 others for the crew we would be sitting pretty!!!!

By the time it's all said and done we might owe the original GC money.

That's OK, we all know those GC's are loaded with money, they won't mind!
