You are required to be licensed to do metal framing, drywall work and ceiling work.

Since you are not licensed, the only way you could legally work is if you are hired as an employee by a Building or General Contractor.

I think more and more unlicensed contractors are going to have a hard time getting hired by reputable contractors, homeowners may not care about a license, but most contractors like myself doing commercial work do.

Hi Bwalley,
Thank you for your concern but we've been doing sub-work and piece-work in Florida for the last 15 years with an occupational license without having any problems. We always work under a contractor as 1099 employees. We also provide our own liability and workers comp.
