Follow them concrete trucks in the morning.... i saw a bunch of foundations sitting out in Stetson Hills the other day.

Or just go to the pprbd.org site and see who's pulling permits. Send out a letter or give them a call.

I got a call (recording) from a framing contractor wanting work. I think he got the list off PPRBD website and setup a recording and a dial list. It was a good idea. I would look into that as well.

Re: Framing Colorado

Might try a flyer and drop one to each lumber salesman at Foxworth and BMC. Those guys know who is ready to put one up. Id try to get it on their desk with a card. Maybe chat if you can.

Ok if you like that I would look for Owner/builder permits. OB's are more in tune with paying on completion with maybe a draw in between. I liked OB's on a construction draw account so there was a banker involved if things got sticky. Cash OB's are usually OK for framers because they are out before the OB runs out of money.

I'm sure you could find work out in Stetson but I doubt you could make any money and you would probably have to wait 60 days for pay. they used to hold 10% for a year too in case you made any mistakes. Not that I ever did.

The owner builders are a good idea there K2... I am sure you could find some that are sacred of framing OR find some that tried and learned its not as easy as it looks. Then you could come in and save the day and have them love you forever.

On the PPRBD website you can pull up listings of all permits issued each day as well as each week etc. For the homeowner pulled ones you might have to do a little more digging as they dont include thier phone number but with a little looking you could find them out and call them and ask if they need a framing sub.

fu#k that! I live in woodland park and framed 3 houses in the springs last year. I almost starved to death! All the illegals are driving the price down so far. the only way i'll go to the springs again is for a OB. the only permits i looked at was the OB's I'm sure there are GC's in the springs that pay a white mans wages but i don't know any. It's crazy that the springs pay as low as $2.50 s.f. and 45 minutes west in the mountains they pay $9-$15 s.f.

I agree. Finding work and making money are two different things. I've never seen anyone do half way decent framing ing C S.
