Crew Of 4 Ready To Go Now!!

I have a crew of 4 guys who are ready to move out asap to do work in TX or LA. I have (we have) been set up by two different contractors who supposedly have work only to be 24 hours away from leaving to hear NOTHING!! I/we need work ASAP!! We were going down for blue roof contracts, will gladly do roofing, hell... at this point we will gladly do anything!
SERIOUS ONLY reply to this request for work. My house is just over two weeks away from foreclosure and I cannot afford the BS any more...
Thanks Bob

Re: Crew Of 4 Ready To Go Now!!

I am actually heading down tomorrow to Gavleston to do work with a reputable company to finish up the blue roofs for FEMA. Is this a mistake? ACME is the Prime Contractor but I am sure not going and not getting paid! What do you know about that?
Also, just wondering what you know about doing repairs, reroofs and or new construction? Probably to soon for Galveston huh? I do have a contact in LA but was heading to Galveston so any heads up would be great!!

if you are working for fema , it is a month to get paid , no one is paying by the week , and the pay is about 20 cents sqf, so you have to keep your guys fed ,gased, and housing , alot of up front money , we just finished with acontract , but got in it early , it is ugly, the av. roof was about 600 sq,f, so you gotta bust some ass

Re: Crew Of 4 Ready To Go Now!!

TX is a joke just returned after 2 wks there way to many people trying to grab the same bunk contract. Ive seen rubber checks, tomany tomarrow pay days that dont ever come. not worth going after, most people havnt even talked to ins. co. yet , so unless they are out of pocketing it not a whole lot moving .

If you do decide to go, read the fine print carefully, some of these contractors have no problem sleeping with your money.

In two weeks time we made about 5 grand but it cost about 9 grand to go just not a good deal . we have done good at other storms but with the economy in the dumper to many people in one area , nobody makes money except the prime. Good Luck
