Breeze - we have rules set in place on this forum and like for all members to follow them. We do not allow double posting material from one section to another. I pulled all 5 of your other posts and if I see more double posts you will be treated with a ban.

Re: Breeze Siding In Need Of Work In Seattle.
I will take another look at your posts and re-post what is not a double post. I saw at least one double post so I yanked them all in moderation.

Re: Breeze Siding In Need Of Work In Seattle.
i have no experience in siding ... but 87 cents a sq. ft. sounds awful low. That CAN'T include materials
![]() Just take the back of a two story house, 2500 sq. ft. say. (50lengthx25wide - x2 for two levels) Let's say 4 sides of the house - height is about 20ft say for i.e. That's about 3,000 sq.ft. of siding. That's only about $2600. If your guys are paid legitimately & at par - say they cost you 40,000 each for the year. Then there's WC - and with siding, I'm sure the WC rates aren't much better than roofers. So I'm gonna say your employees cost 160,000. You might work out of home, with a modest marketing budget - so let's say $20,000 for essential office/marketing/etc. You have a truck I guess ... hmm ... with fuel ... mmmm ... $10,000 a year maybe - let's say 12 though. So that's an overhead, so far - of about $190,000. Oh - and then there's you. Hmm, Washington state ... you have a family ... eh, I'd say you need probably 40,000 just to skid by - after taxes, etc ... it's more like around 50. So now your overhead is about $250,000 per year (I rounded up a bit). This is just "getting by." At an overhead of 250,000 ... your company needs to generate $125/hr throughout typical work year. At .87 cents a foot ... you need to place siding on about 287,356 sq. ft. worth of siding. This means, your crew would have to work at a pace of 143 sq.ft. per hour. 3,000 sq. ft. of siding ... completed in about 2.5 days. Again, I don't do siding - so I can't say if that sounds "right" or not. NOW - that is JUST TO BREAK EVEN. Meaning your overhead is met. Your company begins to actually profit after this. This is also based on filling that entire 2,000 hour year. I'm not taking into consideration any down time that you may experience. Now, why go to all this trouble for $40,000 per year? You can easily find a job that will pay that. So why not double that? - $80,000. Now, you can't take on anymore volume to do this, right? Well, you could. But then you'd likely have to hire another employee --- and then you would have to get more work though You could raise your prices .... ![]() Say you raised to $2/ft. Before, you had to do 287,256 sq. ft. to gross $250,000. Now, you can do the same volume, and actually gross 574,000 Again, i'm not figuring your material cost - at 87 cents a foot though, I'm assuming that's before material cost anyways. But you see where I'm goin with this? I might be wrong on all of this - but you're asking for a "light" in the sky ---- perhaps this is something to consider

Re: Breeze Siding In Need Of Work In Seattle.
dirt guy, you spend a lot of time writing some ignorant things. Do you know why Im offering discounts to just get by? Do you Know the going rate in my area? $2 per sqft? Are you even serious? At the state of the economy you are telling me that you will rather live in the streets than to work for a lower price? I have a family to look out for, maybe that is something you dont understand. Im offering discounts to get my name out there and to produce some sort of income in tough times for my business. So if you want to make yourself seem smart on some forum, then say something smart, rather than being a compete moron.

Yep, you are proving it right there & with crap like that it will be sooner rather than later. Maybe you out to pull your head out of your A55 & just read some of the posts here with an open mind - you might actually learn something & graduate to staying in business - to succeeding in business |
