Associate Engineer - Peter Brett Associates UK
Hi,
I am looking for Associate Engineers for my client based in the UK. The role is detailed below. They are looking for someone with Proven Project Management and High Voltage experience. ASSOCIATE / PRINCIPAL ENGINEER ROLE To assist Partners and Divisional Directors in the efficient control of their Divisions and projects and to be responsible for the day to day management of project teams. QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE §Degree or equivalent qualification in an appropriate engineering, transport, environmental or planning discipline. §Chartered or equivalent membership of a recognised institution. §Ten years post-graduate experience. §Not less than seven years experience managing design teams. COMPETENCIES §Good leadership and communication skills. §High degree of technical and/or management skills. §Client focused and results orientated approach. SUMMARY OF MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES §Undertake the duties of the CCM, CBM or IBM as required. §Deputise for the Project Partner or Divisional Director when the need arises. §Assist the Partners with the marketing of the Practice and the preparation of fee proposals and bids. This will include creating opportunities for new work with existing clients, the promotion of other Divisional work with existing clients as well as marketing new clients and professionals. §To ensure risks are managed and identified for work under their control. §Day to day management, direction, training and discipline of staff under Senior Associate/Associates control. §To liaise with Client or Project Partner/Divisional Director as appropriate in order to establish a clear definition of the project requirements and to complete projects in a timely and cost effective way. §To monitor and control work outputs and costs during the progress of the project, identify and agree all extras with the Client Brief Manager or Clients as appropriate. §To minimise work in progress and debt on projects managed by the Senior Associate/Associate. §Manage all the technical aspects of the design projects including calculations, drawings and specifications etc in accordance with the Practices QMS, EMS and H&S procedures. §Manage all aspects of advice and reports to the client including planning, design and supervision of projects. §To maintain regular contact with sites and ensure supervision is carried out in accordance with the project brief. §To be involved in continuously improving the performance of staff under the Senior Associate/Associate’s control. §To liaise with third parties involved with projects, including the general public to ensure clients and the Practice’s interests are safeguarded. §To liaise with other members of staff within the Cost Centre and Division to ensure staff are kept busy and working effectively. |
