This is more of a US based site, so I doubt you will find any help for more employees.

That's downright discrimination.

It's the UK, not sure of their discrimination laws.

Try Craiglists, lots of ladies looking to ply their trades. They even have pictures.

Re: Anyone Know Any FEMALE Trades People ?

I find a company calling itself a female only company...well... sexist.

Let me explain:
if a qualified male employee applies to work for you,
you will not hire him and you will discriminate on the basis of ...gender.

Before any assumptions are made,

  • Two of three of our job managers are female
  • We have six female painters
Our company is half female owned

Re: Anyone Know Any FEMALE Trades People ?

I've been looking over this site for some time and just joined today. If you have been reading any of the posts on here, I guess you've figured out that there a lot of people who think they are funny who respond to serious posts by people who are really looking for work or for workers. If you know of any other sites where the people are really serious about construction trades, please let me know of them. I think it is really bad with the economy being the way it is that so many people have to be smart**** to people when they post here looking for work. Some of us are seriously trying to feed our families.

Re: Anyone Know Any FEMALE Trades People ?

I know-that is who I was talking about - there are men posting here looking for work and other men who do nothing but make jokes about it. For example, I read a post from a guy who was asking for work and had listed several states he could work in and all the responses were from people making jokes- not one serious response out of 8 responses.

Then it's best that they post
serious questions.
If there is a point, and an answer
that doesn't involve magic, they will
usually get a genuine response.

I agree that it comes off as being a bit rough around here sometimes. But some of the introductions are piss poor at best. I know that its the internet, but everyone should introduce themselves, let people get to know them a bit and go from their.

No one is going to recommend or give work to a random one time poster.

I can say I have been referred and have referred a few jobs. All of which came after posting here for awhile and getting to know people.

DO you think I am really going to refer work to the guy that posts, I am broke, strapped for cash pleassseee help me out.

Re: Anyone Know Any FEMALE Trades People ?

Lots of people really are broke right now- especially if they work on new houses because there are not many being built. I understand what you are saying, but some of the posts are from people who have introduced themselves and the requests that they have put on here asking for any work are very polite and serious. Some of them are not asking for a referal , just asking if anyone knows of any work. Also, just because they have been on here a while does not mean that they would be a good worker and just because they are new does not mean that they would be worthless.

It's pretty much the same everywhere.
If you know of some magic place that is
welcoming all the tradesmen they can find......
There are "help wanted" posts here, but
most of us are struggling already, and there
is some frustration with folks who think
there are magic answers to all problems.

Good luck to you and yours.
