Greg,
Have you used the XLM yet? I having been avoiding selling it until I see how it weathers. Right now I will push people to Azek when they want a "non-composite". I just what to see how it holds up before I sell it to anyone.

Azek doesn't have a decent HFS... XLM does.

We're putting down one right now, and I think we have 1-2 more lined up...
Check back with us in a few months & I'll be able to give a better report!

Exactly. The XLM is essentially the same stuff AND I actually trust TimberTech a little more than other companies. They have much more at stake then the new fly by night companies.

I've got samples coming and a firm word that order fulfillment should start in May. Pricing should be pretty much the same as the black/white RadRail stuff.

I've got a big entry staircase/walkway/back deck project that we're in the "talking about materials" stage right now - either XLM or tk cedar w/ the possibility of cable rails. I'll hopefully get the XLM colored railing samples in time to present them as an option to the client. I dunno, though... I still think the black will look the nicest. I think a cable rail system would look pretty sharp with the black RadRail post sleeve/cap/skirts.

Black w/ SS cables would be a sweet option that I might never see in my market... if you can get a nod for that type of railing... please post a few pix for us Deck Whores!

Thx Mac,

Re: XLM Matching Radiance Railing Colors Now Available

I am looking for material that I can slice up into 1/4" thick pieces and then bend them into a curved rail. I also want to manufacture a rail that has my profile on it. I would have to be able to stack the pieces (If they are 3/4" thick) 3 high, cut them and then shape the profile into them. The stuff should be able to go through a thickness planer, shaper and a tablesaw. I would also need an adhesive that is matched up for use with that material or would a polyurethane like Gorilla glue work? I have heard some good things about AZEK however you guys don't sound convinced. ROLe.
