Truemarc Deck

Is anyone familiar with this decking? I received some samples and it looks fantastic!! They have 6 or 7 shades of 'exotics' and it's a combination of PVC and rice hulls. The PVC part means it will be more maintenance free like Azek deck, but I don't know about the rice hulls part.
Anybody used it yet?

I did one earlier this year with New Tech decking that had rice hulls in it, but had no pvc. Crappy decking imo, more shrinkage than any composite I've ever worked with.

Re: Truemarc Deck

The main ingredient in the New Tech decking is HDPE same as Elk Cross Timbers which I used once and didn't like at all. It's heavier, denser, more brittle and expands and contracts more than the deckings not made with HDPE.

The Truemarc decking has PVC as it's main ingredient just like Azek(Procell), and their decking seems to be pretty good. I'm not sure what the rice hulls do. Guess I should've paid more attention in chemistry class.

Sounds like we're going to need someone to be brave and experiment. Of course that still won't help us with the most important test--TIME.

Re: Truemarc Deck

The rice hulls are in lieu of wood flour. Supposed to have some qualities that make it better than wood flour according to bs I heard from factory rep, but I have a feeling it's cause they have a lot of it in china so it's cheaper for them to get than wood flour. With pvc it may make for a good product.

Funny Boy!
I actually have tested out different products on my 2 decks. The smaller one (6'x12') is 10 yr old Choicedeck. We still like it, but it's kind of plain looking and seems to mildew quickly (course it is on the north side of the house).
The one we don't like is, of course, the bigger one (14'x16'). It's 11 yr old TimberTech. It looks a lot like their present day Florizon plank. I don't remember what it was called back then. Hopefully, they have improved it. They must've originally designed it for use in a land with no dirt or trees that drop stuff that clogs the teeny tiny little "drain holes". Plus the "grain" on it is so pronounced that it's uncomfortable on bare feet, says my wife, and you have to sweep it off 'with the grain' if you want to make any progress, says me. So, anyway, maybe I'll replace the TT with Truemarc.
Do you think Truemarc will provide the materials for free if I promise to report back here about their product?
Do you think Ed McMahon will show up here with my PCH multi-million dollar check, too?
