A True "Green" Synthetic
Met with a new client today that wants a completely (or at least the most) green synthetic decking product. Something that is 100% recycled. Off the top of my head, I can't think of anything that is 100% recycled.
Eon is not green enough for her. TimberTech is not either.
A google search resulted in two products. Neither of which I've heard of or seen locally.
Any suggestions?

I know that they make park benches and the like out of HDPE (milk jugs). I do believe that HD (Home De Pot) Carries a deck product made in this manner.

Can not vouch for this product. But if this is what the "Green-Head" (up-scale neighborhood I bet) wants, so be it.

Oh boy. Is this client trying to win some type of award, or does she think that someone is really going to care if her deck is 60% recycled material verses 80% recycled?
Sorry, but this type of thinking just gets me lost as to motive. I'm all for being responsible with finite resources, but, unless you're willing to use adobe or rammed earth, or hay bales, I'm afraid you're going to have to accept some compromise. I've never seen a hay bale deck before. Well, I've seen a stage made of hay bales, but is an outdoor stage a deck?

Check with Moisture Shield... I'm pretty sure it's got the highest amount of recycled material. They've won a few awards, and are certified green by one of the major eco organizations.
Let me know if you need contact info, etc.

Agree with Matt, MoistureShield has the highest "Green" ratings and their marketing really pushes green. It is distributed through Wolf Distributing, so will have good distribution channels in your location. George.

One of the grocery stores around here has benches made from grocery bags. I think its 100%. They keep them inside and they look like crap. I dont think they would last outside

CX is 80% recycled (60 post ind/20 post consumer), here's our polypro recycled counter:

Good for up to 8 LEED pts.
Other than that, I agree with the recommendation of Moisture Shield - those guys do a great job of incorporating recycled content.

I've seen 2" stock that was 100% recycled with waves like the ocean.
Green products are great if they are not in the dump in 5-10 years.

Green decking is total Bull****tttttttttttt. The energy, trans cost alone put any composite completly out of the Fuc!!444ng green area,as if that area has a define at all to anyone. There....Is...No...GREEN!!!! Nothing is Green!!
If you want to make yourself feel good buy a mixed battery car, eat watercress inside a cave, grow test tube water base cell produced meat from sewer waste, never take a bath or shave, and try to figure out why Hillery looks like Jack Nickleson as the joker in the BatMan movie.

for green I think of a locally milled wood plank deck. But it will need maint. and finishing of some sort. Have to agree with John on production, transport methods in supplying some of these so called green products.
