Trex For Shower

ADA is one of my forte's but this is new to me.

Sunken shower, about 6"s. Need to raise to floor level for easy rolling chair access. StarBoard meets requirements but is too expensive for the project. This family is really sick, literally waiting for mom to die like a bunch of vultures.

I'm just trying to CMA.

Re: Trex For Shower

I'd recommend an all plastic board over a composite board - esp. one that will see wet, humid conditions on a regular basis. You'd have to check with the manufacturer to make sure they're cool with it being used in an indoor situation (can't myself think why not but taking my word for it is not CingYA)

What's the plan for the struct. framing below it?

How about aluminum waterproof planks? You could cut a hole in for the drain, waterproof the rest and have a solid floor (with traction grip, if necessary). xccentdecking.com

But, last I checked Trex is ADA compliant for skid resistance in both directions... I'd say find a rep to confirm though...

Ameradeck has passed test for ADA slip resistence, it's a pvc composite & is not real pricey.

Correct Deck and Correct Deck CX both meet ADA requirements. I do believe that evergrain does as well.
